Wednesday blog-prompt - Boston Baby!!

I've not used any of the UKS blog prompts for a week or so - just not had the time. Found time today and this has really caught my eye:

The world is a wondrous place. If family, money and a job were not a factor, where would you most like to live? Why? What are the factors, to you, that make a great place to live? What do you like or not like about where you live currently?

I think I would love to live in Boston, USA... if of course money and family were not a factor! I've never been, but have been to Toronto and NY and I love North America. I think Boston for me would be preferrable to either T or NY, they are such big cities. Boston would satisfy DH's love for cities but has enough of a rural feel to it to keep me happy too. One day I would love to go to Boston in the autumn, to see all those trees in flushes of red and gold. I'm definitely a spring and autumn girl, I hate the extremes of summer (don't mind the winter though!) DH and I would be able to watch baseball games in real time on tv, rather than over the internet and would probably go to loads of games too. We don't have children yet, but I can't help thinking that this country of ours is failing children at the moment. They talk of asbos for unborn children of troubled parents, seriously how does that help? Our schools are overcrowded and short of cash, the same can be said of our hospitals. I know america isn't he golden country, (how can it be if it elected George W as President, really?!), but I love so much about it. We'd be able to watch the few tv shows that we like without waiting a year to get them over here, we'd be able to find the sweets that Colin adores (anything with Peanut Butter in), and the scrap shopping...... need I say more?!

You brought back so many memories of my childhood Trace. Having grown up in Montreal, Canada the one thing I looked forward to every year was Autumn ... watching the colours ... totally awesome!!!
