Blog prompt - Tradition!

I'm now singing that song from Fiddler on the Roof! Today's prompt from UKS :

What were some traditions from your childhood? What traditions do you hold fast to now (new or old)? Are there any traditions would you like to maintain but don’t? If you have children or plan to have children, are there traditions you would like to pass on to them?

I'm the same as Kate for this, most of the traditions that I can think of from childhood relate to Christmas... stocking presents in the morning, tree presents after lunch.. as much as Colin doesn't like this I will be trying to carry this one on once we have kids of our own! Colin and I have a couple of traditions, we try and go out together, just the two of us, once a month on a date. Our other tradition is birthday presents. Rather than buying gifts we take each other out to a nice restaurant. As we both work in London it's easy to do after work. It's my 30th in a couple of weeks and we're going to Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Chelsea. I can't wait!! It's Colin's 30th at the end of November and being the organised person that I am, I've already booked a restuarant - we're going to Jamie Oliver's Fifteen. Can't wait for that either!!
Oh - almost forgot we also try and take a photo of our shadows when we go on holiday... so far we've taken one in every place we've been bar one!!

Very jealous of you going to Gordon Ramsay's restaurant!! I think I might have to start up that tradition myself!

Love your blog, Tracey...and your new and old traditions, too. Especially the one about shadows! What a sense of humour you two must have.

Enjoy your night out at Jamie Oliver's restaurant.
